The Alex Cuba concert Tuesday night was better than sitting in front of a roaring fire. Close your eyes and you could feel the warm breeze on the balcony of your favourite Cantina in Santiago as you enjoy some genuine music by one of the worlds best Latin artists.
There was a poignant moment as well when Alex praised Dan Olmstead who recently passed away; crediting Dan’s son Ian’s love of music as being born of that of his late father’s. He then brought band mate Ian Olmstead on stage to play along with him and the band after their being apart for sometime.
Alex Cuba heads east to Prince George and then Toronto playing and promoting his own unique style of homegrown Cuban music.
