Soulful singer to play at the Fort Gallery's First Thursday community arts event

Singer/songwriter Antoinette Libelt is bringing her powerful vocals to the Fort Gallery this Thursday, July 6 at 7 p.m.

The performance is part of the gallery’s “First Thursday” series, where on the first Thursday of each month they host a variety of visual artists, writers, poets and musicians from the community.

Libelt, 22, grew up listening to artists like Michael Jackson and Aretha Franklin, and emulates their soulful voices in her work.

She began singing before the age of two, and in her teens, picked up the guitar and began writing songs. Libelt graduated with a diploma in contemporary music and technology from Selkirk College in 2015, and currently teaches voice and guitar at Bergthorson Music Academy.
