The Youbou Community Association, thrilled with the response to their Oktobeerfest dance, have been inspired to offer a New Year’s Eve bash this year.
It’ll be a “Youbou Style” party and dance to wind up the old year in style.
“NYE has been in the works since the spring when YCA took the fortunate opportunity to hire Eagle Eyes and Joint Chiefs for a homecoming celebration to ring in 2019,” says Association’s Allan Gott.
Cowichan Lake musicians, Jack Gunderson, Ray Harvey, Jason Dunajski and Greg Murray, are bringing their Eagle Eyes tribute show to Youbou Community Hall on Dec. 31.
“The Eagle Eyes show will be presented in its entirety, providing patrons the opportunity to sing and dance to the best of the Eagles catalogue, brought home by the Cowichan Valley’s highly acclaimed Eagles tribute band. But, the entertainment will not stop there. These talented musicians will return to the stage as Joint Chiefs and take the crowd into the New Year with another excellent set of music.”
In other words, it’s time to contact your friends and get a group together for a super night out.
“The $40 ticket for this evening of great music and dancing includes a full bar, table snacks, buffet sandwiches, drink mixers, party hats, balloons, blow-horns and, with advance reservation, access to a free shuttle to and from the party. Seating is limited so please call the phone number on the ticket early if you wish to book the free shuttle service,” Gott said.
Doors open at 8 p.m., and the music starts at 9 p.m. and will carry through the midnight countdown and beyond, organizers promise.
There are 250 tickets available for the event and the YCA anticipates a sellout.
“We encourage everyone interested to buy tickets early. Tickets are available from any Youbou Community Association Board member, our local Youbou businesses: Shop & Save, Cassy’s Coffee House, Daly’s Auto Centre, as well as Scarlett’s Second Hand Boutique and the Chamber of Commerce/Visitor Centre in Lake Cowichan.
