The title promised “Silver, Gold, & Everything Shiny for Christmas!” and Judy Hogg’s Celtic Rhythm Dancers and Ricki-Lee Allison’s Summit Dance really delivered Dec. 1.
The Cowichan Performing Arts Centre was packed for a Saturday night of fun and entertainment with hardly a seat vacant and lots of excited chatting about what was coming up. No one was worried, these shows are always delightful family fare: a chance to celebrate the successes of the senior dancers and watch the tiniest ones take their first steps on the big stage.
There was plenty of Christmas music, too.
All the way from ‘Nuttin’ for Christmas’ and ‘Where Did My Snowman Go?’ through ‘Sleigh Ride’ and ‘Carols of the Bells’ to ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’, there was something for everyone in the crowd, and when Santa made his way onstage at the end of the finale, it really felt like the holidays had started for one and all.
