Jack Gunderson, Jason Dunajski, Ray Harvey, and Kenneth Ermter shine on the big stage Sept. 21

The lobby of the Island Savings Centre was buzzing Friday night, Sept. 21 as an excited crowd got ready for the Eagle Eyes show.

Yes, the Cowichan Lake based Eagles tribute group was taking to the big stage in the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre for the first time.

The four talented guys who make up the group, Jack Gunderson, Jason Dunajski, Ray Harvey, and Kenneth Ermter, have taken their idea from success to success this year, gaining fans by the thousands along the way as they stormed through the festival circuit in the Pacific Northwest. Appearing before 8,000 people in the Okanagan is just an example of their summer triumphs.

Their polished presentation at the theatre showed the value of tight teamwork, dedication, and unceasing efforts to bring the legendary Eagles music to life onstage. Every member of the band is essential to producing the unique sound: Dunajski and Harvey provide a vocal and musical edge, Ermter and Gunderson add smooth harmonies and vocal colour.

It’s never easy to present songs everybody knows, but Eagle Eyes was up for it.

All the hits, from ‘Hotel California’, ‘Take It Easy’, ‘Lyin’ Eyes’, ‘New Kid in Town’, ‘Take It to the Limit’, ‘Best of My Love’, to ‘Desperado’, ‘Tequila Sunrise’, ‘Witchy Woman’, ‘Peaceful Easy Feeling’, and ‘Seven Bridges Road’ and more were woven into a fabulous night of entertainment, all backed by a colourful light show.

The crowd loved it, singing along with their favourites, getting up and waving during a special photo shoot, and roaring the roof off until the boys came back for a couple of encore numbers.
