For two local artists, art starts with a vision.
Bean to Cup’s newest art show features two distinct visionaries and two different mediums: painting and photography.
“Art is an expression of who I am as an individual. Art is terrifically exciting in that one can bring the depth of the unseen imagination to life,” said Jewel Inkster, the painter participating in the show.
Inkster’s large, colourful canvases juxtapose well with photographer Donna Mair’s images.
“Photography allows me to interpret what I see, in unique distinct ways. My Armchair Tourist series was born out of necessity. It’s not always possible to stop on the side of a busy highway to snap an image, so I became inventive and the results were fascinating,” said Mair.
Bean to Cup is hosting the dual art show in their downstairs gallery, and will be donating 50 cents from every specialty drink sold to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.
Opening night reception is Wednesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The art will be available for viewing at the Bean to Cup downstairs gallery until early January. Visit Bean to Cup’s Facebook page for more information.
