It’s only a 20 minute drive from Vernon to take a trip around the world –– in music and dance.
The Lake Country Performing Arts Society is presenting its spring concert, to be held at the Creekside Theatre in Winfield Saturday, and has invited some North Okanagan friends to join them.
The event features Cuban trio Major Mambo, as well as a tribute to Ireland featuring Vernon’s Molly “Malone” Boyd and Sally “O’Malley” Evans.
Local dance troupe Hula Halau Ke Aloha will perform dances from Hawaii and Tahiti, while the vibrant Nakama group will be doing some African dances and drumming.
Other performers include vocalist Louise Boisvert and the DreaMotion dance studio.
Saturday’s event at the Creekside, located in George Elliott Secondary School on Bottom Wood Lake Road, starts at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $22 or $72 for a group of four. Call 250-766-9309 or purchase them in person at the District of Lake Country municipal hall, until Friday, or at the box office one hour before the performance.
