The Abbotsford Arts Council is seeking a volunteer special events assistant for its Aboriginal Arts and Culture Day taking place on June 4.
Among the duties of the assistant will be: attending meetings with the event coordinator, finding sponsorship, coordinating event set-up and overseeing cleanup, scheduling artist vendors/volunteers, doing social media and more.
Time required is about eight hours a week, increasing to 20 hours weekly in the month before the event, as well as for the whole day of the event.
Aboriginal Arts and Culture Day is slated to run from 1 to 5 p.m. at Kariton Art Gallery, 2387 Ware St.
Aboriginal artists will create work on site which can be purchased directly from the artist.
The event will also feature Sto:lo story tellers, holistic teachings, drummers, dancers, The Bannock Wagon food truck, and Metis jiggers and fiddlers.
