An event raising funds for Parkinson’s disease will get people in Salmon Arm moving in September.

Parkinson SuperWalk is the single most important provincial and national awareness and fundraising event for Parkinson Society British Columbia (PSBC).

Over 20 communities across the province organize walks during the weekend of Sept. 10 to 11, and  on Sept. 17, while raising money for research and support services through individual pledges and corporate sponsorships.

This year, the society’s goal is to attract over 2,400 walkers and raise at least $440,000 in B.C.

Proceeds from SuperWalk will enable the society to invest in research and continue to provide essential programs and services to the 13,300 individuals and their families who live with Parkinson’s in BC.

The event in Salmon Arm will take place at McGuire Lake Park on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Registration will be at 9:30 a.m.

The walk begins at 10 a.m. For more information contact Don at 250-838-0794.
