Want a reason to visit Pynelogs? We have five

As an almost lifelong valley resident, I know sometimes we take things for granted in our valley — such as the scenery, the people, or what our area has to offer.

As an almost lifelong valley resident, I know sometimes we take things for granted in our valley — such as the scenery, the people, or what our area has to offer.

Coming home for summers from university the last several years, I find I am now blown away by our Columbia Valley and am grateful for things I failed to pay attention to previously.

Working at Pynelogs has shown me how much the CV Arts council puts into the community and that Pynelogs itself has something to offer to anyone. Need some reasons to visit?

Reason 1: The Columbia Valley Arts Council is made up of extremely dedicated people working hard to fund the arts in our valley and provide great shows and events to the public.

These people are giving of their time and energy and truly enrich the community with their dedication. CV Arts supports local artists and gives them a lovely location to exhibit their work and gain public interest. The shows always garner attention and are an excellent tool for artists to get their work “out there.”

Reason 2: Pynelogs Cultural Centre is a beautiful historical landmark.

It has a wonderful story behind it and the antique aspects are always interesting to look at, such as the wooden chandelier which is always a favourite. It is a gorgeous old building well worth checking whether you are a history buff or not.

Reason 3: The Cafe… seriously, need I say more? If you haven’t eaten at Pynelogs you are truly missing out. With a feature menu and specials that change daily, the food is kept interesting and fresh and ceaselessly delicious. There is a famous Scotty Burger here with your name on it.

Reason 4: The gift shop is a great place to find unique, locally made gifts no matter what the occasion. There is everything from jewelry, cards, paintings, photographs, pottery, and so much more. Each piece is crafted by our local talent and there is a little something to suit anyone’s wish list.

Reason 5:  Jami Scheffer. Have you met this woman? (If not you are definitely missing out!) Jami is the gallery manager and administrator and works tirelessly to hang breath-taking shows, schedule events, and about a million other activities on a list a mile long. Her upbeat attitude and big smile brighten up the gallery all year long. As of November, Pynelogs will be pretty quiet and Jami will have only the ghosts for company, so why not pop down and say hello and learn a little more about CV Arts?

Come on down to Pynelogs and discover your own top five reasons to visit. Call us for information at 250-342-4423.
