Wapiti Music Festival sees record-breaking year

Over one-hundred-and-fifty volunteers, musicians and artists made the seventh annual Wapiti Music Festival possible for over 2000 attendees, August 11-12.

Over one-hundred-and-fifty volunteers, musicians and artists made the seventh annual Wapiti Music Festival possible for over 2000 attendees, August 11-12.

Tickets had sold out on Saturday by 4 p.m., forcing volunteers to turn guests away. This is the earliest Wapiti has ever sold out.

“It was fantastic, a huge success,” said Wapiti Music Festival stage manager, Troy Cook.

The festival, already a favourite among locals, has evidently been discovered by visitors. This year, tickets were purchased from all over Canada and throughout North Western USA.

“This was a brilliant year for us. We were packed in, but with plenty of room left for the dance floor. Our advance sales were twice that of any previous years and our own branded merchandise sold out in hours. We’ll take that back to planning. The energy level this year was off the charts. It was humbling,” said Wapiti Music Festival director, Kevin McIsaac.
