Wearable Art returns to gallery ‘runway’

Stunning art created for the human form will be featured Saturday, Oct. 20

Stunning art created for the human form will be featured Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. at the third annual Wearable Art Fashion Show and Silent Auction at the Campbell River Art Gallery.

The audience will be amazed as they witness dazzling works of art performed in the show, which is sponsored by Sandy Baker of RE/MAX Check Realty.

Artists from all over the North Island have created pieces for the event, which will feature more wearable art than ever before.

The first two Wearable Art Fashion Shows were sell-outs, so be sure to get your ticket soon at the CR Art Gallery’s gift shop ‘Artful Gifts.’

The art pieces will be presented with music in the Main Gallery, with dancers/models in wearable art moving along a meandering cabaret-style walkway through the audience. Prizes, sponsored by Georgie’s Furniture, Quest Shoes, Something Special Gifts, Mothership Adventures, the City of Campbell River and Comox Strathcona Waste Management will be presented in five categories: Audience Choice, Best in Show, Best Performance, Best Use of Recycled Materials and Best Artistic Concept.

Tickets are $30 for CR Art Gallery members and $35 for non-members and they include hors d’oeuvres.

The event, which is a fundraiser for the Campbell River Art Gallery, will also feature a silent auction, with a wide variety of arts, jewelry and sumptuous services to bid on.

Tickets are available at the Campbell River Art Gallery, open 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.
