• Delta Farm Roots Movie Night — The Pollinators: March 5, 7 p.m.; Equinox Theatre, South Delta Secondary, 760 53rd St., Tsawwassen; Delta Farm Roots is hosting a screening of The Pollinators to raise awareness and education about the declining population of bees worldwide. • ReSound Intercultural Open Mic: March 6, 7:30 p.m.; Crossroads United Church, 7655 Scott Rd., North Delta; ReSound is an intercultural/interfaith open mic night hosted by Bruce Harding, multi-instrumentalist at Crossroads United Church, and Amarjeet Singh Vabhana, table player and director of the Naad Foundation. The concept is that people bring songs, poems and other “offerings” for the community that gathers to enjoy, and Bruce and Amarjeet (along with other volunteer musicians) play along. The community holds the space and enjoys the many offerings, their different flavours and languages and meanings, and there is always some community singing as well. It’s a wonderful evening of cross-cultural sharing.

• Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society Guided Tour: March 21, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.; Kennedy Seniors’ Recreation Centre, 11760 88th Ave., North Delta; OWL’s primary goal is to rehabilitate and release sick, injured or orphaned raptors. However, there are some instances when a bird suffers a permanent injury which makes it unable to survive in the wild, and it adjusts well to human contact. These birds are given another chance to help their species by becoming educational ambassadors, helping to educate the public about raptors and environmental conservation, or by becoming foster parents to orphaned babies and companions to other raptors going through OWL’s facility. The bus will leave Kennedy Seniors’ Centre at noon and arrive at OWL’s facility at around 1 p.m.. The bus will then leave OWL at 2 p.m. and return to Kennedy at about 3 p.m. Cost is $13. • Delta Music Makers Concert Band: Did you have fun playing in a band in high school? The Delta Music Makers Concert Band is a fun group of adults who love to rehearse and play concerts in the community. • Delta Scottsdale Lions Club: Second and fourth Tuesday of each month; The Lions Club, a service club that welcomes both ladies and men, is looking for new members. • Delta Naturalists Society: The Delta Naturalists Society welcomes everyone interested in nature, bird watching, conservation and environmental issues.
