The City of Cranbrook and the Cranbrook District Arts Council are looking for public arts pieces that we can display in select areas of Cranbrook for the long term. The Public Art pieces must be built to deal with the conditions of Cranbrook weather. The works should fall along the theme of EARTH, WIND AND FIRE- the industrious spirit of Cranbrook.

Please submit by Tuesday, March 12, your detailed costed proposals with rationale, drawings or vignettes to Cranbrook and District Arts Council via email cdac@shaw.ca, or by mail or hand delivery to 1013, Baker St.

Proposals must be received by this date in order for the grant application to be completed by the submission date.

Our window exhibit “Best of Baker” at 1013 Baker St. is a student exhibit from students at Mount Baker Secondary School. It remains until March 2nd.

Monique Cudbertson’s Show ‘Into the Wild’ is sure to be a winner. It begins March 5th and will run until March 30th.

Leya Dwyer, the gallery administrator, says about this show” Monique is a new artist in the gallery and we are really excited about showing her work. She will even be doing a live painting session during the week.”

Monique is a locally raised artist who works primarily in acrylic and is inspired by the wilderness. She travels with a camera to capture and image to recreate on the canvas. Her show is not to be missed!

If you have a skill in the arts and crafts and could teach a small class, we would love to hear from you. Come and talk to us.

See you in the Gallery.
