Winners were announced Sunday night for the fourth annual ReelPeachFest film festival.
Judges selected the top three submissions for the Okanagan Experience category and Okanagan Liquid Libations category while fans were able to select one favourite each.
Films in the Okanagan Experience category were to showcase any experience such as arts, culture, or tourism. According to the event website, bonus points were awarded for featuring “undiscovered experiences off the beaten path in the South Okanagan or Penticton.” Okanagan Liquid Libations entries were required to focus on Okanagan wine, craft beer, distilleries, cider, or juice/soda. All films had to be family-friendly.
“The films made people laugh, smile, and exposed them to local experiences that they might never have known existed,” said Andrew Jakubeit, the event organizer.
Producers were required to submit a one to three minute short film in order to qualify. According to Jakubeit, there were 36 submissions in total this year.
