Members of The Versatiles rehearse for their recent appearance at the Cloverdale Rodeo parade.
The Cloverdale-based troupe of golden-aged performers is gearing up for two upcoming gigs: Make ‘em Laugh, a free show this Sunday at the Cloverdale Legion, and Speak Easy on June 15 at Port Kells Hall.
Make ’em Laugh, June 1 at Cloverdale Legion Branch 6, features their famous comedy sketches and familiar music of a bygone era. It’s enough to make your heart sing, your toes tap in rhythm and your tummy ache from laughing, says Susie Francis, founder of the Versatiles. The music is by Jennifer Scott and Peter Dobson. Showtime is 3 p. m. and doors open at noon.
Speak Easy is at the Port Kells Hall, located 88 Avenue and Harvey Road, on June 15 from 3 to 7 p.m.
There will be dancing, gambling with funny money, prizes for best costume, plus a silent and live auction. Put your friends in jail, live entertainment. There will be door prizes and more. For tickets call 604-613-3116.
