Candidate Questions: Brad Vis – Conservative

Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon Riding

1. What do you feel is the biggest issue impacting Mission residents and how will you and/or your party address that?

The biggest issue facing Mission is getting the sewage pipeline built. This is long overdue. The District of Mission should not be forced to hire a lobbyist to ensure our concerns are heard in Ottawa.

If I’m elected, my first order of business will be to contact the Minister of Infrastructure and advocate for the additional funding required to complete this vital project.

2. What do you feel is the biggest national issue in the federal election and how will you and/or your party address that?

Affordability. Two-thirds of Canadians feel they can’t pay their bills or don’t have anything left over at the end of the month.

More and higher taxes on gasoline, groceries and heating your home; the high cost of real estate and the crushing burden of debt all contribute to these feelings.

Everything keeps getting more expensive and government is doing nothing to stop it. Right now, Justin Trudeau’s government is actually the driving force behind these cost-of-living increases. Under a Conservative government, this abuse will end.

I’m running to champion the people of Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon so they can get ahead, not just get by.

3. Describe for local voters why you chose to run in the election and what attributes/ideas you bring.

My entire campaign is about earning your trust.

Over the last year, I’ve sought to earn the trust of voters throughout the riding – especially here in Mission – where I’ve personally visited the homes of over 5,500 families to hear their concerns.

I chose to run because I believe I can be an effective representative and shine the light on how Ottawa spends (and too often wastes) your hard-earned taxpayer dollars. I also have the right experience to provide excellent service to constituents at my MP office.

If I’m successful and win this election, I will work to shed light on how Ottawa approves or disapproves spending in government departments. I will also launch a regional petition from Kent to Langley to get Highway 1 expanded and widened to Abbotsford.
