Parksville Library was just one of many locations set for this global challenge aimed at educating on the benefits of breastfeeding while also setting records for the most moms feeding babies at the same time.

The challenge was created by the Quintessence Foundation, a B.C.-based non-profit breastfeeding advocacy group. The Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) has embraced the idea and partnered with Vancouver Island Regional Libraries to put on the annual events, complete with VIHA public health nurses, nutritionalists and library staff to answer questions and educate moms, dads and caregivers.

Although Parksville Library didn’t see many attendees, other locations in Canada were expecting around 200 people. Savannah’s mom Terryl said she was there to support the event.
