Another Christmas is nearing and the Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary is gearing up, with many fundraisers which are so important for us.
We have just had another sellout Fall Bridge luncheon. We thank all the volunteers who made this event possible and all the bridge players who came out to support this important event.
This luncheon has been held for many years and is just one of many that enable our auxiliary to donate the funds that are so important to our hospital.
On Nov. 4-5, the Kwatcha group will have their annual linen sale at the United Church on Buena Vista Avenue.
This event has been held for several years. The members of this group collect linens of all types including lace table cloths, modern linens, doilies, handkerchiefs and Christmas linens including table runners, cloths and napkins.
They also sell collectables, including fine china.
This sale always attracts buyers from all over the Lower Mainland who are aware of the top quality of the items for sale.
The Aquarius group will be holding a jewelry sale in the lobby of the hospital on Nov. 6.
On Nov. 17 and 30, the Aquarius Group will hold a New to You Christmas sale in the lobby of the hospital.
On Nov. 19, the Breakaways Bays group is having a Bake Sale at Breakaway Bays clubhouse. This will be a great way to buy some great home made baked items for early Christmas entertaining.
There will also be two big Christmas sales sponsored by the Aquarius group on Nov. 25 and 26 at the Elks Hall on George Street. These sales will have lots of Christmas items ranging from all types of decorations, to collectibles and any type festive items.
The Semiahmoo Group will be selling their famous Grinch Trees and Christmas decorations in the lobby of the hospital on Nov. 25. They will also have a gourmet basket at this sale as well as a Christmas planter and Starbucks coffee cards.
The Grinch trees are perfect for a person who may not have room for a tree or who would like a living decoration for their home. The Grinch trees last at least two months.
On Dec. 3, the Semiahmoo Group will be having a bake sale at Crescent Gardens on King George Boulevard.
This is always very busy as there are few people selling homemade baking and they always have a large selection of items, including homemade loaves, cookies and squares.
Our Superfluity Shop on Prospect Avenue is always accepting donations of clothing and small household items.
If you are able to donate items of furniture, please call the shop at 604-536-7744 and speak to the manager about it.
The auxiliary is always looking for new members. If you would like to join this energetic group of people, please pick up an information package at the Superfluity Shop, which is located at 15163 Prospect Ave., at the information desk in the hospital lobby or at www.pahas.ca
