Barriere Senior’s Society elect board at AGM

Annual General Meeting the Barriere and District Seniors’ Society elects full slate of officers

At their Feb. 2, Annual General Meeting the Barriere and District Seniors’ Society elected a full slate of officers.

The following were elected for a two year term: President Lora Lee Austin, treasurer Cindy Rosen, and three directors; Wim Houben, Dorothy Carby and Joanne Tremblay.  For a one year term, they elected: Secretary Sylvia Chivers, and two directors, Ivy Johnson and Zelda Copley.

The position of vice-president is currently vacant and members can expect a call in the near future, asking if they would consider this position.

Following the meeting those present enjoyed a delicious pork sandwich dinner with salad and chips.

All residents of Barriere and area, who are 50 years of age or older, are encouraged to join this active group and help them decide on future events for the seniors of this community.

The group meets on the first Thursday of every month, at 3 p.m. at the Senior’s Hall.
