Birdsong Farm offers the secrets to great cheese

Naomi Fournier teaches classes in the art of cheese making at her Enderby farm

If learning how to make cheese is one of your new year’s resolutions, you’re in luck.

Birdsong Farm in Enderby is once again offering classes in cheese making.

In Mozzarella & More, participants will learn how to make a simple mozzarella, squeak cheese and traditional ricotta in the March 23 class.

Instructor Naomi Fournier, owner of  Birdsong Farm, said participation is encouraged.

“And everyone who takes a cheese making class will be entered for a free class in 2014,” said Fournier, who raises registered Jersey cows and Nubian goats.

All classes take place on the farm from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with fresh coffee, tea and baking to enjoy while you learn.

Space is limited, so pre-registration is required. For more information, or to register, visit the farm’s Web site at www.naomisbirdsongfarm.ca and click on the “Classes” tab. You can also e-mail Fournier at naomisbirdsongfarm@hotmail.com or call her at 250-838-0235.
