Parksville firefighters are over the moon because of the strong community response to their Muscular Dystrophy boot drive campaign.
The Sept. 10 event saw firefighters canvassing at highly-visible locations around town, collecting small bills and change in firefighter boots.
The campaign saw a generous response from the community, as firefighters raised a whopping $1.735.90.
The money will be used to improve the quality of life for people suffering from the neuromuscular disorder by purchasing mobility equipment, providing support services and funding research.
