Challenge Penticton Canada announced that new local hot spot Brodo Kitchen is he official pro athletes lounge for the inaugural Challenge Penticton, Canada triathlon.
Opened in May, Brodo has quickly become a favourite spot for locals and visitors to experience simple fresh food, as Chef Paul Cecconi and his wife Holly focus on local, seasonal ingredients for an array of soups, salads, sandwiches, fresh drinks and desserts.
“We’re very excited to welcome Challenge athletes to our kitchen and look forward to creating some special dishes aimed at pleasing both the taste buds and the health-conscious,” said Cecconi. “This is a great way to introduce visitors to a taste of the Okanagan as well.”
Pro-Athletes are invited to Brodo, at 483 Main St., a short walk from the Challenge hub of activity in downtown Penticton. Brodo also has an array of preserves to take home after the race, and free wifi should athletes need to catch up with race news online. Brodo encourages visitors to check-in on Foursquare and Facebook, tweet them @tastebrodo, and hashtag their foodie photos with #tastebrodo.
Not a pro athlete? You can still visit Brodo and try the tastes that they will enjoy, as chef Cecconi will be creating special menu items for triathletes or “tris-in-training,” and everyone is welcome to taste Brodo. In addition, on race day, Brodo will provide catering for the VIP area as special guests of Challenge Penticton Canada watch the race unfold.
“We’re thrilled to have a local establishment with such a talented chef provide the flavour of Penticton for Challenge,” said Challenge Penticton Canada general manager Barb Haynes.
