With the co-operation of various community groups, Sicamous’ Canada Day celebrations are famous throughout the region as a perfect way to celebrate the nation’s birthday. From 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., our nation’s birthday is celebrated with non-stop fun. The day begins at the Red Barn Arts Centre with the Sicamous Lions Club’s popular strawberry pancake breakfast, starting at 8 a.m. An arts show sponsored by the Eagle Valley Arts Council and hosted by the Eagle Valley Brush and Palette Club also takes place in the Red Barn. Activities continue with music, entertainment, and kids’ events at Sicamous Beach Park. The day concludes with “Light up the Lake,” a fireworks display put on by the District of Sicamous.
