Workers at Chances (Playtime Gaming) are going back to work.
The workers were locked out by the employer on Oct. 22, 2014, following a strike vote where Rick Wangler, 1st Vice-President of the United Steelworkers (USW) local 1-1937 said, “The employees of Playtime only want what is right, which is a fair living wage and decent benefits so they can provide food, shelter and health care for themselves and their families.”
Wangler said Wednesday that the settlement included a significant raise in wages and benefits in the first year (2014) and in lieu of retroactive payment, a ‘fairly significant’ signing bonus.
“The employer has taken on a huge cost to settle this matter,” said Wangler. “They moved significantly in their stance and since this is our first agreement, every piece of it is an improvement.”
