Come join the City of Campbell River for an evening of open dialogue and brainstorming to establish short, medium and long-term water conservation goals and ways to attain them.
The city’s Water Department is currently developing a Water Conservation Plan, under the provisions of the new Water Sustainability Act (2016) and the Drinking Water Protection Act (2001). The Water Conservation Plan will be completed in early 2017 and will inform decision-making around matters that may affect or be affected by the city’s drinking water source and system.
“A comprehensive, practical and well-strategized plan with long-term insights is essential to give the city access to many senior government grant programs for water and sewer capital projects and the possibility to defer system capacity upgrades if water demand is reduced,” says water supervisor Nathalie Viau.
There will be two opportunities to participate in workshops at the Maritime Heritage Centre in the Thulin Room from 7 to 9 p.m. Join us either Tuesday, Oct. 25 or Wednesday, Nov. 16. For more information, contact the Waterwise Hotline at 250-203-2316.
