The artists at Creekside Landing have been working to get ready for their art show all year.
“We’ve got a nice collection of acrylics and some watercolours of about 50 pictures from 16 artists,” said instructor Mary Kurbis.
The artists go to classes two or three times a week and many work on their own at other times.
“I just started painting this year. I really enjoy being able to do different pictures and keep on learning,” said Stella Barnes.
Dolores Jefcoat added that she has been learning something new ever since she started painting.
The painting is an important creative outlet for the artists.
“I just wouldn’t be happy if I didn’t have my painting,” said Rose Dear.
A calendar featuring selected pieces of art from the show will be for sale, with proceeds going for supplies for the art and crafts classes. There will be entertainment and refreshments at the Creekside Landing Art Show and Sale which takes place Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
