Daphne Simpson and John Blyth won first place in their age category in the Silver Latin competition at the 22nd Annual Island Fantasy International Ballroom competition for British Columbia, in Nanimo earlier this month. Simpson, from Cumberland, and Blyth, from Comox, have been dancing together for three years. They were trained by Ken Yung of Forever Yung Dance Studio in Parksville. Other local winners included John Burke, Doreen Thompson, and Darly Sharp.
