World Literacy Canada’s writing contest called Write for a Better World for Grade 5 – 8 students across Canada is now open.
This year marks the contest’s ninth year of encouraging Canadian students to explore ideas of global citizenship through a 400-word creative writing contest entry and in-class writing workshops.
Since 2008, the TD-sponsored Write for a Better World program has received over 6,300 entries from students across the country and has attracted the support of renowned Canadian children’s book author contest judges each year, such as Kelley Armstrong, Eric Walters, Kathy Stinson and many others.
This year, the guest judge is TD Canadian Children Literature Award Winner, Jonathan Auxier.
Contest entrants will have the opportunity to become published writers and receive a grand prize of $500.
The deadline is April 15, 2016.
Entries can be submitted online (www.worldlit.ca) or can be mailed to World Literacy Canada’s Toronto office (401 Richmond Street West, Studio 281, Toronto, ON M5V 3A8).
