Members from two branches of Fung Loy Kok Taoist Tai Chi joined forces recently at the Vernon Centre to enjoy the art of Tai Chi with regional workshops, good friends and an Autumn Moon dinner
Members of the Southern Interior Branch — Wendy Edwards, Sue Young, Ed Lifton and Shelley May of Vernon and Jim Clark of Salmon Arm — joined members of the Kamloops branch.
“Taoist Tai Chi is for anyone, any age and for all health conditions,” said Anne White, with the Vernon Centre. “The gentle 108 moves promote body alignment, muscular relaxation, improved balance, better blood circulation and so much more, including new friends and lots of fun.”
Taoist Tai Chi internal arts are specifically aimed at cultivating health and vitality and were developed by Master Moy Lin-shin, a Taoist monk. Master Moy synthesized the wisdom he learned during more than 50 years of training in meditation, qigong, Tai Chi and other arts into the practices taught by the society and its sister organizations.
