Get set to book your 2011 BC Parks camping vacations

Camping enthusiasts were busy picking their preferred campsites last Tuesday as they participated in the first day of 2011 for making reservations at some of their favourite provincial park campgrounds.

Reservations for all front-country campgrounds and the Berg Lake trail will started on March 15. Reservations for all group sites and the Bowron Lake canoe circuit have been available since January and remain open.

Whether folks like camping under the stars with the earth beneath them, or camping on wheels, the reservation service offers information about sites, maps and amenities so vacationers can customize their camping adventure.

Book through the interactive online reservation system at: www.discovercamping.ca

For the more spontaneous campers, the system also offers mobile web services so smartphone users can easily make and change plans from the open road. Reservations can also be made through the call centre at 1-800-689-9025 or from overseas at +1-519-826-6850.

Camping in BC Parks is incredibly popular. Last year almost a quarter-million people reserved nights in provincial campgrounds.

2011 is the centennial year for British Columbia’s provincial parks system.
