Unseemly Evenings is once again presenting a musical and performance extravaganza, Aug. 11 at Gold Pan City Dance.
Headlining the event, the Vancouver-based band High Society is an unstoppably dramatic rockin’ soul and blues group, which will fill your eyes and ears with euphoric excitement and inspiration.
They have been building a regional reputation for close to two years playing a blend of R&B, soul, blues, folk, hip hop and jazz. High Society is currently engaged in a summer three-month tour.
Fronted by the incendiary Adam Farnsworth on keys and vocals, he shares the limelight with the beautiful, inimitable, Chelsea Johnson on vocals and guitars. Their solid rhythmic foundation is held down by Cory Sweet on baritone saxophone, tuba and various wind instruments and Kenan Sungur on drums, upright bass and vocals.
The evening will be punctuated with shenanigans and chaos said event organizer Jessie Herman.
“It’s going to be a foxy night so get your foxy on, whatever that means to you,” she said with a twinkle in her eye.
“It’s a chance to dress up or down, skin is smiled on. Expect the unexpected.”
Audiences will be amazed by the performance of Vile Pole Arts, a local duo who have competed and performed in B.C. and Alberta, most recently in the Alberta Pole Fitness Championships. They combine extraordinary athleticism with stunning showmanship savvy.
Rounding out the show, Bottoms Up Barely Burlesque is a simply delightful and delicious dance ensemble that will tease you and please you.
Experience these burlesque beauties and fabulous French men for a performance of unseemly proportions.
Then, just when you thought it might be time to retire for the night, D.J. Dilemna will keep the bootie shaking into the wee hours of the morning.
Early bird tickets at $20 are available at BoPeep Boutique until the day before the show, Aug. 10.
Remaining tickets will be available the day of the show for $25 also at BoPeep Boutique.
