Green Fair is all about the environment

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Environmental Trust Green Fair takes place April 19

Local and organic growers and citizen initiative groups will gather along with those promoting planet-friendly products at the ninth annual Armstrong Spallumcheen Environmental Trust Green Fair on Saturday.

This year, 25 participants will be at Askew’s in Armstrong, along with a pickup load of newborn chicks, horse-drawn wagon rides, Kingfisher’s interpretational “aquifer in mini” display and the  Scouts hamburger and hot dog stand.

As well, there will be a conifer seedling tree giveaway to complement the Regional District of North Okanagan special interest information station and ASET’s information booth. Opportunities abound in the raffle draws, with one for the Suzuki/Grady book Tree with art by Robert Bateman.

“You will not want to miss this year’s event,” said event chairman David Derbowka. “This is a pre-celebration of Earth Day, April 21 this year.

“And we very much appreciate the support we get from local businesses for this event.”

ASET raises funds for local students in post-secondary environmentally related studies.
