Some of the best fireworks on Vancouver Island happen in Honeymoon Bay on the B.C. Day long weekend, July 30 to August 1.
This year’s Bay Days starts with an outdoor movie at dusk the evening of July 30 at Honeymoon Bay Hall.
The Bay Days parade starts on March Road with the marshalling and at 11 a.m. heads down the main street to Honeymoon Bay Hall on July 31.
The kids can have a blast after the parade, with the afternoon filled with games and entertainment in and around Honeymoon Bay Hall.
The Honeymoon Bay Outdoor market at the Coffee Mill on South Shore Road, right across the street from Friesen’s, will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on July 31. The market sells Honeymoon Bay blackberry products, along with local soaps, herbal products, garden produce, plants, wood furniture and many other unique items.
There is an adult dance in the hall starting at 8 p.m., July 31.
After the pancake breakfast, by the Firemen at the Honeymoon Bay hall, 8 a.m. on August 1, Beaver Lake Resort hosts the Bay Days sand castle competition, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. Then, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. is the regatta on Beaver Lake, with kayak and paddle boat races.
The spectacular fireworks are held at dusk on August 1 at Central Beach just off of Park Avenue.
