House hosts a merry Mackie Christmas

The Mackie Lake House is getting ready for two holiday events, taking Dec. 1, 6 and 7

It will be a relaxed and old-fashioned Christmas this weekend at Mackie Lake House, as the Coldstream landmark prepares to host an Exquisite Christmas Tea.

On Sunday, Christine Pilgrim will guide you through the decorated halls where treasures and cherished traditions of the past mingle with the new.

“Relax and savour the tea and taste traditional English delicacies,” said Mackie Lake House manager Christine Kashuba.

There are two sittings for the tea, at 1 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance.

And if you’re looking for something a bit out of the ordinary, discover Christmas Bits and Bites at Mackie House on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. or Dec. 7 at 7 p.m.

“Imagine 12 mini courses of fabulous savoury and sweet morsels interspersed with entertainment by Christine Pilgrim, set in the historic 1910 Mackie Lake House,” said Kashuba. “Treat yourself and your friends to this fun and fabulous evening.”

Tickets to Christmas Bits and Bites are $40 per person; tickets to both events can be purchased in advance the old-fashioned way, by calling 250-545-1019, or e-mail mackiehouse@shaw.ca
