Davison Orchards would like to invite dads and families of all ages to come celebrate Father’s Day at the farm.
The Davison family is transforming their lower parking lot into a massive sand pit in order to hold their first ever Dad’s Day Sandcastle Competition.
“We have two dump truck loads of sand coming, so the parking lot will be ready for families to build,” said Shane Landreville, marketing and events coordinator at the farm. “Fathers will be encouraged to get their kids’ help to build their own masterpiece. The sand castles will then be photographed and posted on the Davison Facebook page for voting and the creation with the most likes will win one pie per month till the end of the season.”
For those kids who want to make something special, there will also be a free handprint craft to make for dad. For boys of all ages, the Davisons will be showcasing their antique tractor collection with Bob Davison available to share history and answer tractor questions.
As a Father’s Day gift, the Davisons will be giving free farm tours on the Johnny Popper for all dads.
“We have activities that dads of all ages will enjoy, but we also know that dads like to eat, so of course we have plenty of tasty food on offer,” said Landreville. “On top of the regular café menu, their will be a barbecue featuring ribs, burgers and sausages.”
Dad’s Day at the farm runs Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, see www.davisonorchards.ca or call 250-549-3266.
