Vernon Women’s Transition House Society will throw their annual Little Black Dress Party Nov. 8 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Best Western Vernon Lodge.
The event is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, with all proceeds going directly to the society.
This women’s only event includes a silent auction and a jewelry balloon pop, along with a DJ spinning the hits. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served, as well as one-of-a-kind truffles, hand-made by Vernon’s own Cotton’s Chocolates.
Event organizers promise an evening of amazing prizes, and even better company.
“The Little Black Dress Party is a fantastic opportunity to get your friends together, get dressed up and have a fabulous time, all in support of a great cause,” said Pamela Owen, who attended last year’s party and said she’s looking forward to stepping out in her little black dress again on Saturday. “Last year’s event was a classy and fun evening, with an amazing silent auction and great food.”
The Vernon Women’s Transition House Society is a non-profit organization that provides safety and shelter for women and children fleeing abuse. The society also provides women’s outreach and counseling, as well as legal services for those in need.
“Vernon Women’s Transition House Society helps the whole family move forward,” said Owen. “They are an amazing asset to this community”.
Tickets are $40 and available by calling 250-542-1122. Deadline for tickets is Wednesday.
