Surrey Public Libraries’ annual summer reading club is officially on the books.
With the theme of “Funny Business,” registration is now open. Children who sign up receive a reading log to keep track of their reading over the summer, and are encouraged to visit the library regularly to collect weekly stickers, enter contests and win prizes.
Kids who log at least 49 days of reading – or being read to – will receive an official 2014 medal.
The club aims to motivate kids to read on a regular basis, while helping to maintain or improve reading skills over the summer break.
Last summer, nearly 16,000 children participated in the club.
