Little Fort Herefords expecting 60 calfs to be born this week

Falling snow has not stopped Spring from arriving at Little Fort Herefords

You might not think it is Spring yet, with all this darn snow that keeps falling, but Spring has come to Little Fort Herefords. As of Monday, Mar. 6, 24 cows had calved with another 110 yet to go - and 60 of those are due by the end of the week. Visitors stopping in at Jim’s Food Market in Little Fort can watch the newborn calves and their moms in the fields across the highway. Some of the calves can be quite frisky, hopping around and pestering the adults. While taking this photograph another calf was grabbing his mom’s tail with his teeth, making her stomp her feet and look ‘round at him. Another, tried to have a drink from someone other than his mom and got chased away. They are all fun to watch!
