Mile High scenic chairlift rides start Saturday

Mount Washington will be running their popular scenic chairlift rides on weekends in June

The central Island has been spoiled by amazing weather this past month.

To celebrate the start of the summer season, Mount Washington will be running their popular scenic chairlift rides on weekends in June. The first chair ascends the mountain this Saturday at 11am.

“We’re operating our Mile High Scenic Chairlift over the next three weekends,” says Don Sharpe, Director of Business Operations and Marketing. “To kick off the summer season, the fesort is pleased to play host to the inaugural Dave Battison Pediatric Sports Medicine Symposium. The conference is intended for anyone who is working with youth and children in sports. Additionally, our wedding season is already well underway, so it makes sense to open early to give everyone an opportunity to see the amazing views from the top of Mount Washington.”

Starting this Saturday, the resort will have dining and shopping seven days a week. Daily summer operations begin June 28. In addition to the Mile High Scenic Chairlift Rides, there will be the ever-popular Bungee Trampoline, mini golf, kids’ games, play area and a newly designed disc golf course.

Mount Washington’s Mile High Scenic Chairlift Rides are one of Vancouver Island’s most popular summer attractions.

Views include the green Comox Valley, blue waters of Georgia Strait and stunning vistas into Strathcona Provincial Park. Snow play areas and the potential to get glimpses of the elusive Vancouver Island Marmot are added highlights to the ride up the mountain.
