Mission Christmas Bureau will begin distributing hampers in one week. We already have over 600 Mission families registered to receive hampers, with many more expected.

Donations are beginning to come in and we are very thankful for those who have chosen to help Mission families through us.

The Rotary Choir Festival was the most successful yet, with more persons attending and donations of food than before. Thank you to all the participants, to those who came to watch, to the Rotary Club members for all their hard work, and to Pam Alexis for her work in organizing this event. We would like to thank the Clarke Theatre for donating the use of their Theatre and staff.

Thank you to all who brought their donations to the Candlelight Parade. We received a van full of food as well as money donations. Thank you to the Scouts who collected the donations for us, and to Prospect Equipment for providing the transport for the donations. Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce for permitting us to collect donations at this event and thank you to the volunteers who kept our Logan Avenue office open for donations.

Thank you to the merchants of the Junction Mall for their support during their first annual Midnight Madness event. Special thanks to Canadian Tire, Save On Foods, and Buck or Two. Thank you to all the volunteers who worked in our store that evening.

We have some important events coming. The always-entertaining Christmas at the Clarke is Dec. 10. We are very thankful for John Agnew, the director and producer of this show, who has donated countless hours over the past 12 years to hold an annual Christmas event which has raised over $100,000 to help the Mission Christmas Bureau and the Women’s Resource Society.

The firefighters will be canvassing the area south of Cherry Avenue, between Cade Barr and Stave Lake Road, tonight.

Mission firefighters will also be going through the Triple Creek Trailer Park and Ruskin Trailer Park on Monday night.

The Joy Vox choir is performing on Dec. 10, raising food for the Christmas Bureau. Thank you!!

We are not government funded and rely on the goodwill of our community to help provide for those in need. We need and gladly accept donations of non-perishable food, new gift items and money. We give tax receipts for donations of $10 or more.

Donations can be brought to 32646 Logan Ave., unit 308-32555 London Ave, Junction Mall, Mission Record office, fire station one (Monday-Friday), fire station two and three (Sunday mornings). We can be reached at 604-814-3333.
