Cloverdale Rodeo President Shannon Claypool has been inducted into the BC Country Music Hall of Fame.
Claypool has been a driving force in promoting and growing B.C.’s country music industry at the Cloverdale Rodeo as well as through his involvement as the president of the BC Country Music Association.
Claypool’s love of country music began while growing up on his family farm in Saskatchewan, and continued when he relocated to British Columbia as a young man.
He has provided leadership in several volunteer capacities, dedicating hundreds of hours annually to furthering the country lifestyle and values he loves.
First elected to the board of the Cloverdale Rodeo in 1997, Claypool has also served as a director from 2000 until 2006 of the BC Country Music Association (BCCMA), including serving as the organization’s president from 2001-2006.
In 2007 the BCCMA honoured Shannon with a lifetime membership, and he continues to volunteer for them today.
“Shannon has given countless hours of his time to supporting so many worthy organizations in British Columbia,” said Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair General Manager Mike MacSorley.
“The entire Cloverdale Rodeo family extends our congratulations to Shannon on this tremendous and well-deserved honour.”
