Everything from astronomy, to glaciation, to human nutritional needs will be discussed by expert scientists during Vancouver Island University’s free science and technology lecture series.
Each lecture is delivered by a local scientist or visiting scientist from as far away as Prince Edward Island.
“There’s a topic to suit almost every interest and you don’t have to have a scientific background to enjoy these talks,” said Wendy Simms, co-organizer. “The lectures are aimed at a general audience including community members, students and educators.”
On Wednesday (Jan. 29), a talk by Dr. Julie Saxton from the Planning, Policy and Environment Department of Metro Vancouver, will explore air quality monitoring in the Lower Fraser Valley. Each lecture is followed by a question and answer session.
The series runs from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday evenings in Building 356, Room 109.
