Join Silver Star elementary school and Watkin Motors Ford on Friday to support a local school in their quest to take learning outdoors.
The community will have the opportunity to help the school’s parent advisory council raise money by test-driving a Ford vehicle. The test drive is completely free and there is no sales pressure. It’s Ford Canada’s way of giving back to schools by donating $20 directly to the school for each test drive completed, up to $6,000.
“We are so grateful to Watkin Motors Ford for partnering with us to support our students,” said PAC president Karla Ziegler. “We continue to strive to provide our students, teachers and staff with opportunities to enhance learning.
“The funds raised through this event will go towards purchasing picnic tables so our teachers can bring learning outdoors.”
Ford’s Drive One 4UR School event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. at the school, 1404-35th Ave. It will run in conjunction with the school’s Fun Fair. The outdoor concession opens at 4 p.m. with full concession and Fun Fair beginning at 5 p.m.
Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s licence. There is a limit of one test drive per household.
