Surrey student’s video wins Remembrance contest

Enver Creek Secondary's Jupneet Kahlon takes top prize in Legion's competition.

“Unique and touching” – that is how the BC Yukon Command Canadian Legion described Jupneet Kahlon’s winning entry into its Student Remembrance Video competition.

The Enver Creek Secondary student was presented with a MacBook Pro by the legion for taking top spot in the contest that attracted 40 entries from across B.C. and the Yukon.

Teacher Elizabeth McLoughlin and members of her English Language Learning Citizenship and Governance class who were interviewed in the video received special recognition certificates. Those students were Jason Garcia, Bereket DeYasso, Sattbir Grewal, Dunn Fernandez, Prabhleen Grewal, Lucine Lu, Steven Wu, Mae Nimedez and April Geronimo.
