The 33rd Annual Terry Fox Run will involve more than two million people in more than 50 countries as they join together for a great cause, finding a cure for cancer.
In 2012, 2.6 million was raised in B.C. and Yukon Territory, with all proceeds going to cancer research.
There is no entry fee, no minimum pledge, and it’s a fun filled non-competitive event for everyone.
Participants can walk, run or cycle the three, five or 10-kilometer distance.
You can pre-register and collect pledges online at www.terryfox.org. All proceeds from the Terry Fox Run go to cancer research.
This year, more than 200 runners, walkers, and cyclists are expected to raise more than $6,000 at this local event.
The Terry Fox Run is scheduled for Sunday, September 15, at Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, with registration at 9 a.m. and the run starting at 10 a.m.
There will be music, refreshments, smiles, laughter and hope.
