The Canadian Mental Health Association strives for ‘Mentally Healthy People in a Healthy Society.’
Did you know that one in five people will experience a mental illness in any given year? That means if it isn’t you, it’s likely someone you know—maybe a co-worker, parent or even a child. We are all impacted.
So what can you do to make a difference in the lives of people affected by mental illness?
On June 22, the Canadian Mental Health Association is looking for event volunteers for our community bike ride fundraiser, called Ride Don’t Hide, staged at the Rotary Centre for the Arts in downtown Kelowna.
Ride Don’t Hide is set to become the largest mental health advocacy event in Canadian history. Join 4,500 other Canadians across the country on June 22 to raise funds and awareness in Kelowna’s community bike ride to promote mental health and reduce stigma.
If you have a few hours to give, we have something for you to do. You could help with set-up, work at the registration table, put up signs, run errands or help clean up.
Set-up and registration shifts are from 7-9:30 a.m. We will need people with cars to set up route signs starting at 6 a.m., bring supplies back and forth from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. or work for a portion of that time.
Help raise funds and awareness to promote mental health and reduce stigma, meet a great group of people and get a free shirt and breakfast in the process.
