Do you appreciate fine whisky?
Have you ever sampled an 18-year-old single malt scotch? Would you like to know more about the history of whiskies and what to look for when making an educated choice?
On Jan. 27 from 7 to 10 p.m., the Comox Rotary Club and the Best Western Plus Westerly Hotel will present the first Comox Valley Whisky Fest, at the Westerly Hotel and Convention Centre in Courtenay.
The evening will begin with your choice of four individual seminars, designed to illustrate the various aspects of whisky tasting.
Following the brief sessions, guests will begin to sample, throughout the evening, their choice of more than 40 various whiskies offered — from an 18-year-old scotch, valued at more than $200 a bottle, to numerous others offered from suppliers including Highland Park, Macallan, Springbank and Glenfiddich.
To complement the whisky tasting, the Westerly Hotel’s chef has created a special menu of food pairings to enjoy throughout the evening.
Make plans to attend the Comox Valley’s first Whisky Fest, presented by the Comox Rotary Club. Proceeds will support the Comox Valley Hospice Society.
Free transportation will be provided to and from the event.
Tickets are available at the Westerly Hotel liquor outlet. For further details, visit www.comoxwhiskeyfest.ca.
