This year’s annual RCMP Stuff the Cruiser event took in almost 14,000 pounds of groceries and $9,000 in cash in four communities in the Upper Fraser Valley.
Mounties thanked everyone from Chillwiack to Boston Bar who came out to take part in the 10th annual Stuff the Cruiser event.
The totals surpassed organizers expectations and previous year’s numbers.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed to what is being marked as a Stuff the Cruiser record for donations to local food banks in the Upper Fraser Valley,” said Supt. Bryon Massie, officer in charge of the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment. “I saw a lot of smiles and good cheer shared by our officers and the people in the communities we serve.”
The numbers by Community Policing Office (CPO):
Chilliwack: 11,000 pounds of food and $3,600
Agassiz: 700 pounds of food and $700
Hope: 1,200 pounds of food and $2,423
Boston Bar: 1,020 pounds and $3,214
