The theme for the 2012 North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo will be ‘Bulls, Boots, and Broncs’.

It’s official.  The theme for the 63rd annual North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo next September will be ‘Bulls, Boots, and Broncs’, according to North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association president Jill Hayward.

“Our annual fair draws a lot of folks out to watch the BCRA rodeo action all three days,” said Hayward, “This year we thought it was time to have a theme that recognizes the old west and our rodeo heritage; and what better way than ‘Bulls, Boots and Broncs.”

Hayward says area quilters and crafters like to know as soon as possible what each year’s theme will be so they can start to work on projects to enter in the fair.  Area businesses are also encouraged to decorate their establishments during Fall Fair week, and she thinks the western/rodeo theme will give them plenty of opportunity to be creative with their decorations.

“We’ll definately be printing up a batch of new commemorative t-shirts for our 2012 event,” said Hayward, “We have the graphic already produced, and will be pricing t-shirts in the new year.”

Area residents and businesses have enjoyed getting into the spirit of each year’s Fall Fair and Rodeo by wearing the commemorative t-shirts during Fall Fair week; and the association hopes to continue the tradition in 2012.

“It’s a great theme,” said the president, “Who knows, maybe we’ll have a ‘name the bull contest’, give away some cowboy boots, and even have a ‘meet the broncs tour’.

Even though it is still 2011, it looks like the Labour Day Weekend Fall Fair and Rodeo in Barriere is already gaining momentum and enthusiasm for next year’s event.
